From the hills of El Cajon this single-story ranch bungalow looks out over all of East County, and the old wood pergola was in the way of enjoying it.The husband and wife wanted shade that would last, sit high enough to keep the view open, and not need the upkeep the aging wood demanded.
After several quotes they chose Southwest Builders for a creative custom design that solved the height requirement, backed by our reviews. We removed the wood pergola completely, then installed a custom Elitewood aluminum
patio cover from the non-insulated series on a custom roof-mounted design that gains the height they wanted, with an integrated ceiling fan for the warm afternoons. Four to five days start to finish.
The patio now frames the panorama instead of blocking it. The higher roofline keeps the space open and airy, the fan keeps it comfortable through the heat, and the aluminum will never need the sanding and staining the wood did. The homeowners left five-star reviews on Google and Yelp.
Left alone, the wood pergola would have gone on shrinking the view and adding to the chore list. If your patio has a view worth keeping open, picture a cover designed around it. We would love to build yours.
