The two wood patio covers on this 1960s ranch home in North Clairemont had reached the end of the road.They never gave enough shade, and termites had moved in, so the homeowners were looking at repairs on structures that were not worth repairing.
They chose Southwest Builders for the in person design process, sitting down together to work out the layout of both covers before anything was ordered. We demolished the old wood covers, then installed two custom designed Elitewood Alumawood insulated aluminum
patio covers on engineered steel reinforced support headers and posts, an open air design that keeps the sightlines clear. Electrical and ceiling lighting went in with the covers.
Five days later the back of the house had two shaded, lit outdoor rooms in place of two termite problems. Insulated panels keep the heat off through the afternoon, and the lighting keeps the patios in use after sunset.
Left alone, the old covers would only have needed more repairs each year. If your patio covers are past their best, picture what a purpose built pair would do for the house. We would love to build them.
