Tom and Debra’s ranch-style home in Lakeside had the yard, but the patio baked through every afternoon. They were partway through a full backyard transformation with Burgio Landscaping, and the missing piece was overhead: real shade that looked as good as the rest of the work going in around it.
They chose Southwest Builders for a custom-tailored design and a solid reputation. We designed a 12 by 40 foot Elitewood Classic insulated
patio cover on a roof bracket design that lifts the cover for extra height, then built in LED ceiling can lights and ceiling fans for comfort and added roller shades to block the low afternoon sun. Five days from start to finish.
The patio is now the coolest, most used part of the yard. The insulated panels keep the heat off, the fans keep the air moving, the shades drop when the sun gets low, and the lights carry the evening on. All of it is maintenance-free, so it will look the same in ten years as it did on day five.
Without the cover, the rest of the backyard would have been finished around a patio nobody sat on. If your outdoor space is getting a makeover and still has no shade, picture what the right cover would do for the whole plan. We would love to build yours.
