The wood patio cover on Summer’s ranch-style home in La Mesa had rotted through and taken on water.Rehabbing it would have bought a few years at most, so she wanted a permanent answer: something long-lasting, low maintenance and built for entertaining day and night.
She reviewed several bids and chose Southwest Builders on our reviews, a detailed and competitive estimate, and thorough on-site observations. We walked her through the difference between wood and modern aluminum, demonstrated the material options, and she chose a custom-fit non-insulated Elitewood Alumawood
patio cover in crisp white. We demolished the old structure, set wood-style aluminum posts anchored into the concrete patio, added a custom rain gutter and downspouts, and wired ceiling fans and lighting into the home’s existing switches. A full post-construction cleanup closed out the job in four days.
The patio is now a zero-maintenance outdoor room that works from breakfast to late evening. The white finish brightens the back of the house, the fans and lights run from the switches Summer already had, and the gutters keep the space dry through the winter. It carries a lifetime material warranty, and Summer left glowing reviews on Google and Yelp.
Patched instead of replaced, the old cover would have been back on the to-do list within a couple of seasons. If your patio cover is rotting and you are tired of buying time, picture the version you never have to think about again. We would love to build it.
